AI-Powered Prompt Building Tools

Designing effective language-learning materials means matching the right exercise type to the right scaffolding stage — from recognition tasks through to free production. To streamline that process, I’ve built two AI prompt-building tools that turn instructional design decisions into ready-to-use prompts for creating engaging ELT materials.

• ELT Prompt Builder — a structured tool for building exercise-sequence prompts across the full scaffolding continuum, from learning-goal orientation to independent production, for both e-learning and classroom formats.

• Reading & Dialogue Prompt Creator — build a prompt for a reading text or dialogue by clicking suggested values into the form fields, then copy the finished prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or your favorite LLM. Once you have your text or dialogue, use the built-in follow-up prompts to generate further material based on it.

Together, these tools cover both ends of materials design: sequencing whole exercise sets with the Prompt Builder, and generating the core reading/dialogue content itself with the Prompt Creator — plus the extension activities that follow from it.
