After moving to Germany from Ireland in the spring of 2003, Rory initially started teaching English freelance. He has been employed by the Wall Street Institute since July 2003, gaining experience in teaching general and business English at different levels from beginner to advanced. He obtained the Cambridge CELTA qualification from the Berlin School of English in 2005. Rory also works as an in-company trainer and teaches business English at the University of Applied Science (Fachhochschule) Düsseldorf.
In addition to a strong interest in English, Rory is also very keen on music and completed a Bachelor of Music degree at University College Cork in 2000, and an MA in Twentieth Century Music at Queen’s University Belfast in 2001. His MA dissertation focused on the links between the music of Béla Bartók and his research into folk music.
